REFLECTIVE TRAINING PRACTICE AND GROWTH

The aim of this training is to understand the purpose, benefit and practice of reflection, build team cohesion through reflection, consider a strategy of reflection and consider how we might encourage reflection in others.

This training is specific to the correctional environment and is individually designed to address issues within practice.

It is challenging, innovatively facilitated and feedback is gathered to capture its benefits and areas for improvement.

This training features academic linked to reflection, practice based examples and is centred on relationships, making it relevant, interesting and informative.

RESEARCH SERVICES

Understanding the impact of any initiative is important for any organisation.

Fully understanding the root causes of a long lasting problem within a correctional context is also necessary, in order to design sustainable and meaningful solutions.

PRS provides training to organisations in research methods, designing a meaningful research strategy and analysing data.

Staff and service users are involved in the training, deliver the research with the support of PRS and analyse the data themselves, in order to build capacity within the organisation as well as include a range of people in the solution.

This has recently be implemented at HMP Guys Marsh in the form of a Violence Summit and Drug Strategy, leading to a rich insight into these complex issues.
